ABOUT Flourish MicroFarm + Happy Hills Farm This paid youth internship will occur at our indoor microfarm where we produce certified organic microgreens at a large and efficient scale. Flourish MicroFarm currently provides microgreens to the entire West Kootenays and we are planning scale beyond this winter. Our busy season is winter. Thanks to the farms and friends who hosted and the generous support of Columbia Basin Trust, Young Agrarians was able to organize seven different on-farm and educational events across the region in 2019 and early 2020. We learned about tools, seed saving, nurseries, fermentation, mushrooms and more, we toured some groundbreaking farms, and we shared meals with new and old friends. EVENT RECAP: YA Mixer @ the Basin Food Summit ~ Rossland

On October 25 – 26, 2019, over 100 people joined us at Red Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC, for the Columbia Basin Mixer. The three-day Basin Food Summit kicked off on October 24th with the Food and Buyers Expo. The YA Mixer coincided with the Agricultural Forum on day two, with the third day full of unique programming aimed at new and young entrants into agriculture and food production.
