Sundog Veggies in Whitehorse, Yukon is seeking a Farm Hand!
ABOUT Sundog Veggies
Sundog Veggies Training Farm is located about twenty minutes outside of Whitehorse, YT and is located on the traditional territories of the Ta’an Kwach’an Council and the Kwanlin Dun First Nation. We produce a variety of vegetables and do beekeeping.
Sundog Veggies is working together with youth and organic farming mentors to strengthen northern food security. Our goal is to help our trainees gain knowledge about organic farming with hands-on training.
DESIRED QUALITIES
We are looking for young workers (age 16-30) to join us this coming season. We are looking for people who have an interest in strengthening northern food security and working outside.
JOB TASKS
The job includes hands-on training in growing and processing vegetables, construction projects, beekeeping, and many opportunities to learn from organic farming mentors and community partners. We are willing to train anyone who loves the outdoors, has physical stamina, and will work hard with a positive attitude.
JOB DETAILS
Term: Start date is May 16/22 and will go for sixteen weeks.
Hours per week: Employees will work 40 hours per week.
Wage: $18-22/hour depending on experience
