Longview Farms in Victoria, BC is seeking to hire Farm Workers for the 2021 season!
ABOUT Longview Farms
Longview Farm is in the municipality of Central Saanich on Southern Vancouver Island among some of the most productive farmland in Canada. With over 165 acres of certified organic land, including 3.5 acres of greenhouses, Longview Farms is known as a trusted local source for fresh organic fruits and vegetables. We are also proud to grow hay, daffodils and carving pumpkins in our conventional rotation. Our produce is sold locally to restaurants as well as to retail stores throughout Vancouver Island and the mainland.
We have a number of tractors on the farm and use a variety of equipment for field prep and maintenance including a chisel plow, rototiller, cultivator, side-dresser, hand water lines, water reel, bulb digger, mechanical transplantor, finger tine harrow etc.
Longview Farms is the largest organic vegetable farm on Vancouver Island. Our goal is to have a positive impact on local food security issues by increasing production without sacrificing sustainability. We believe in farming in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible way. We are continually implementing and improving upon our growing programs and processes that focus on soil regeneration, water conservation and the overall welfare of the farm ecosystem.

JOB TASKS
Key responsibilities include:
- assisting with planting, cultivating and harvesting crops
- packing and shipping orders
- maintaining the yard, warehouse, greenhouse and vehicles
- assisting with general labour and projects on the farm as required
- maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness and efficiency in all areas of the farm
JOB DETAILS
Term: Start date is immediately/as soon as possible through ’til the end of October
Hours per week: 40-55 hours
Wage: The starting wage is $15.60 moving to $16 after June 1, 2021.
