ABOUT Forrest Farm Sheep & Goat Cheese Creamery
We are a first generation sheep and goat dairy who use regenerative farming practices and are striving to be completely plastic free.
We are looking for a highly motivated cheese lover who would be interested in learning how to make cheese with us.
DESIRED QUALITIES
We are looking for someone that loves cheese, and is interested in making farmstead cheeses from start to finish.
Must be able to work independently, and be passionate about small batch artisan cheeses. Duties would involve milk receiving, pasteurizing, pressing, flipping and aging cheeses, LOTS of cleaning and sanitization, in addition to batch tracing, packaging, and paperwork. We are a small scale farm so attention to detail is critical. The right person will be given the opportunity to take have FOOD 1151 and FOOD 2151 dairy processing courses from BCIT to further their career as a cheese maker.
This is a production job, and you will be working with a delicate product. The job also involves some lifting and bending, so the right person would be physically capable.
Applicants must:
- Be able to lift 40lbs
- Have reliable transport to Salmo
POSITION TASKS

POSITION DETAILS
Term: Available to start immediately
Hours per week: Approx 30/week depending on packaging and processing days, from 8am-4pm Wed – Sun
Wage: This is an entry level internship, and starts at $18/hr
