Posted by JoHana Harcourt on April 17, 2025

Adagio Acres in Lundar, Manitoba is seeking a Mill Operator!

ABOUT Adagio Acres

Adagio Acres grows organic oats and forage crops and then cleans, mills, and packages those crops for retail and direct to consumer sale. We also purchase other organic grains like lentils, beans, flax, buckwheat, and corn from farmers around Manitoba to clean/mill and market. The vast majority of the work is in the mill, running machinery, packaging grain products, inventory traceability, and cleaning. We would consider also providing more extensive farm work (cropping, fencing, working with livestock, etc.) or potentially responsibility in sales and marketing for an applicant who is looking for a more immersive farm experience. Current need is for mill work just 2 days a week (lodgings could be provided in an off-grid cabin for an employee not local to the area). Additional potential for land or infrastructure sharing or leading your own complimentary farm project could be considered – we’d love to be part of incubating your own farm journey!

Adagio Acres is certified organic, and is looking for ways to increase our on-farm biodiversity through blending perennial and annual crops, and through livestock and pollinator integration. Our mill operation also aims to offer other organic farmers around Manitoba an opportunity to market small quantities of crops that may otherwise be overlooked by conventional markets (novel crops like teff, or small-batch crops of 2,000-1,000lbs that would otherwise be unmarketable.
