Fairmeade Estate in Langley, BC is seeking a seasonal vineyard assistant!
ABOUT Fairmeade Estate
Fairmeade was named in 1940 by the Galspie family from Vancouver’s Shaugnessy neighbourhood. Over time Mrs. Galaspie grew the show farm into a producer of championship dairy cattle.
Today, the 157 acre farm includes the 1940’s Farm Lodge, three workers cottages, a managers cottage, 12 stall livery, a dairy barn, 5000 square foot brim, horse shed and outbuildings.
The vineyard was recently expanded to 30 acres. Farm production includes vineyard, contracted hay and corn production and sales. The farm is bordered by one of the last open salmon streams in the lower mainland.
On site equipment includes farm tractor/tiller/attachments, mini-back hoe. General Vineyard equipment.

DESIRED QUALITIES
- This is a unique opportunity for ‘hands on learning’ from an experienced Viticulturist on the cultivation and maintenance of a vineyard.
- The position is well suited to a person who enjoys general labour in the outdoors, in all weather conditions.
- A passion for sustainable farming and healthy living
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining basic farming equipment, including machinery, tractor work with various attachments
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in viticulture would be an asset
POSITION TASKS
- work and learn directly with our Vineyard Manager
- this is an ideal position for anyone interested in a career in viticulture and the wine industry
- undertake strenuous general labour task, including handling material up to 20kg, on uneven ground
- willingness to work with and learn from our Vineyard Manger
- seedling development, daily care and harvesting
POSITION DETAILS
Term: This position would start as soon as available, no later than April 30th
This is a seasonal position to start, from April through October, 2025
This position has the opportunity to become a full time position
Hours per week: Base rate for this position is 20 to $25hr based on experience. Possibility for on site housing. As a full time position it is anticipated the work week to total 37.5 hrs, this may include working over weekends.
Wage: In addition to a competitive wage, this position includes the opportunity for full time employment.
On site housing may be negotiated
