JUNE 28, 2025: COURTENAY, BC – Farm Tour and Potluck at Cat and Crow Farm

Jun 28 | 3:00pm - 6:00pm

You’re invited to a Farm Tour and Potluck at Cat and Crow Farm in Courtenay, BC! If you’re curious what land matching is all about – or just want to check out what your local farmers are up to – join us for the event. Come out to connect with other farmers and food lovers, share a delicious potluck meal and learn about regenerative agriculture and rotational grazing.

Cat and Crow is a small, first-generation farm founded in 2020 in the Comox Valley. Owned and operated by partners Hil and Curt, the farm is rooted in a shared passion for ethical livestock practices and regenerative agriculture, with a focus on rotational grazing. In 2024, Hil and Curt were matched with their current land through the B.C. Land Matching Program. Today, they raise pasture-raised pigs and chickens and grow nutrient-rich microgreens, continuing their mission to support a healthy, sustainable food system.

During the farm tour, we will hear from Hil and Curt about their first year operating on their current land and their plans for the future. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about land sharing, rotational grazing, and farm startup. The tour will wrap up with a potluck meal, with lots of time to socialize.

Kiyomi, the Vancouver Island-Gulf Islands Land Matcher, will also be there to discuss how she can help you find a farmer for your land or farmland where you can build your dream farm business. Both farmers seeking land and farmland holders are encouraged to attend – as well as anyone who loves food, farming and getting out onto the land.

We can’t wait to see you there!
