AUG 21, 2025: DUNCAN, BC – Farm Tour and Potluck at Blue Grouse Estate Winery

Aug 21 | 5:30pm - 8:00pm

Join the Cowichan Agricultural Society (CAS) and Young Agrarians (YA) for a casual, connection-filled evening at Blue Grouse Estate Winery.

Enjoy a summer potluck, local wine, and great company as we gather to celebrate our food growing and farming community. Whether you’re just getting started or have generations in the soil, this is a chance to connect, share stories and build momentum for what’s ahead. Families welcome!

Don’t miss this chance to check out Blue Grouse, a sustainably farmed, award winning winery on Vancouver Island! The vineyards are surrounded by forests, have a Southern exposure, are influenced by a glacial fluvial deposit running the length of the site, and are nurtured by clean air and well water. This exceptional site is farmed organically, with a minimum of fertilization and irrigation. We will have the opportunity to tour the vineyards with Felix, and learn about Blue Grouse Estate Winery’s philosophy of stewardship – including cover cropping and their soil food web project. Learn about the History of the WineryStewardship Practices and Terroir.

REGISTER: Please register on Eventbrite as space for this event is limited.

ABOUT the Hosts:

Cowichan Agricultural Society:
Cowichan Agricultural Society (CAS) was founded in 1868, and is one of the oldest societies in British Columbia. In 1963, CAS merged with the Cowichan Farmers’ Institute (1914). CAS exists to support and enable a thriving farming community in the Cowichan Valley, and this tour is a chance to meet some of the team and learn about membership. CAS seeks to provide a wide range of farming educational opportunities, to be a voice for strengthening the farming community in the Cowichan Valley region, and to facilitate social connections and well-being among farmers with seasonal farm tours and events, like this one!
