APRIL 28, 2025: ONLINE – Understanding Treaty Relationships in Your Farming Journey
It’s essential for all of us involved in agriculture to understand the Treaty relationships that shape the land we farm on. These relationships are foundational—not only to the histories and present-day realities of the places we farm—but also to how we imagine a just and regenerative future in agriculture.
Join us for a powerful and grounding conversation with Amy Seesequasis, an Independent Treaty Relationship Consultant, as we explore what it means to live and work on Treaty land. Amy will guide us through the basics of Treaty history, Indigenous land stewardship, and how settlers and non-Indigenous people can honour and uphold their responsibilities within Treaty relationships.
We’ll also introduce the Treaty Land Sharing Network—a growing movement of farmers, ranchers, and landholders who are committed to building ethical and respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples by sharing access to rural lands in Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 Territory (Saskatchewan and Alberta).
Whether you’re just starting out or deep in your farming journey, this session will offer tools for reflection, connection, and action. Let’s learn how understanding and engaging with Treaty relationships can shape a more equitable, rooted, and relational approach to farming.
This webinar is for you if:
🌾 You want to learn more about Treaties and your responsibilities as someone on Treaty land
🌾 You’re looking for ways to build respectful relationships with Indigenous communities
🌾 You care about equity, justice, and community in agriculture.
