ABOUT THE LAND
This opportunity used to be a productive farm, consisting of a market garden producing non-certified organic vegetables on about 2 acres, 1 acre of blueberries, as well as laying hens and meat chickens. The land is flat and fertile and currently in grass which is grazed by one horse. Deer fencing is in place around the full 2 acre field, as well as an additional lower field (which is very wet over winter) and the 1 acre of blueberries (which would be part of the lease). There is irrigation infrastructure available for use and abundant water is available from the pond and well on site. There is a large production greenhouse and smaller propagation greenhouse (both wooden framed) which need poly and which the landowner is willing to invest in. There is a barn for raising chickens as well as storage and potentially for living in the rough upper floor. A cooler room with a large stand up fridge and chest freezer and basic wash station are also available for use.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The landowner would like to see this farm productive again! This opportunity is available for up to four years to start, with potential to extend the lease if things are going well. There is lots of potential here, in everything from independent vegetable production to longer term collaboration with the landowner in developing agrotourism on the site, etc.
Production of vegetables, perennial fruit (apparently this land grew some amazing raspberries!) and chickens (for eggs and/or meat) are all encouraged on the land – this is not an opportunity for any other animals.
There may be on option for the right person to bring their own accommodation onto the land so they can be fully present to run a profitable farm operation. Come make use of this awesome set up!
