ABOUT THE LAND

An approximately 3 acre field on this oceanfront Ladysmith property is available for lease. The field is currently in hay and has approximately 1 acre of 1-2 year old Christmas trees planted which could be removed if the leasing farmer has a production plan that would require the whole field, to be discussed. Livestock fencing is in place around the perimeter of the field, which is flat and has full exposure, and abundant well water available from a hydrant in the field. A 25×10 indoor greenhouse space on the property is also available for the leasing farmer’s use if needed.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity is available for a responsible and experienced market gardener, sheep, goat and/or hay farmer, and possibly could include the existing Christmas tree operation. The landholders would like to see the land used for farming, and would like to achieve farm status, but do not have the capacity to farm it themselves. There is potential to share farm machinery on the property, including a Kabota tractor. The land can be leased short term, or possibly longer term with an initial trial period. There is no potential for the farmer to live on site at this time.
