We are looking for a part time caretaker and farming Entrepreneur to live on our farm eight km North of Armstrong. We are a family of six and  have a commercial chicken farm and our field is certified organic. We have been growing organic grains on the field and are planning to change directions next year. The caretaking position would involve helping out with farm yard upkeep, as well as tending the chicken barn a couple days a week.  There is opportunity to work off all or a portion of your rent, as there is a two bedroom 1500 sq ft house available. The farm is eighty acres, has 40 cultivated and five acres fenced pasture. There is a year round creek and a large pond for irrigation needs.

The type of people we are looking for are young enough to do the harder labor end of farming and mature enough to have good business sense and some farming experience.  You will need to be somewhat mechanical inclined, be able to run machinery and have work ethic that would make a pioneer pleased. We are open to what ideas you would have to develop a farm based business and if the arrangement is right would be willing to work with you to achieve a successful profitable endeavour.
