We have more land opportunities than what is listed here! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at land@youngagrarians.org to access our full land inventory and B.C. Land Matching Program support in your region.

ABOUT THE LAND

This eight acre farm was used for horses by the previous owner, and is set up with a eight stall barn, indoor and outdoor riding rings and fencing and cross fencing across the property. The new, current landowner would like to make the space available for agriculture, particularly three fields to start with, each just over one acre in size, for a total of about three and a half acres with fencing between each field. Municipal water is available for irrigation and there may be potential to use a well in the future.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The landowner is open to ideas and would like to see the space used for its best potential. The barn can be used as a farm market, with space for an office and storage, and there is potential to rent a suite in the loft in the next 1-2 years once renovations have been completed. In the meantime, the leasing farmer could bring their own accommodation to the site, though there is not yet a septic field one could be made. The land is centrally located off a main agricultural road in the Courtenay area, yet quiet and peaceful, a great place to produce food for the region!
