ABOUT THE LAND
Situated right on the edge of Northern British Columbia’s magnificent wilderness, the historic Mandalay Ranch boasts a sprawling 5,445 deeded acres of land. The ranch is comprised of 23 individual titles and is located 40 km from Vanderhoof and 1.75 hours from Prince George. The beautiful Stuart River runs east to west through the centre of the ranch, providing around 16 km of water frontage. Approximately 60% of the ranch lies to the north of the river and 40% to the south of the river.
The property was previously run as a Bison ranch. The land features loam soils, currently covered in mixed grasses as well as ample forest. Historically, the south side of the river was used as productive hay land; there are approximately 800 acres in cleared and open hay fields on this side. On the north side of the property, there are many areas that could be brought into production, with the majority of the land being quite flat and suitable for pasture.
This is a beautiful property with tons of water access for fishing and recreation, as well as abundant wild game. The landscape is picturesque, with natural meadows, open fields and treed areas. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, this is the place for you!

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an incredible chance for a farmer (or multiple farmers) to lease a large ranch – opportunities of this scale are rare. This is a flexible opportunity open to many types of production, including livestock and various crops, so bring all your farming ideas.
There is the option to lease just a portion of the ranch, rather than the entire property. That being said, the landholder would prefer incoming farmer(s) to lease at minimum 1,000 acres. Farming families and/or a group of farmers would be welcome.
As it stands, this ranch will need work to bring it back into operation. The fields and limited fencing have been left to fend for themselves, and fallen trees and Mother Nature are doing their best to reclaim the ranch. The landholder would love to see this property in production once again!

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this opportunity is an experienced rancher interested in commercial agricultural production, beyond homesteading. The land, having been previously used for livestock, is best suited to a farmer who is interested in running a livestock and hay operation and has the knowledge and capital necessary to operate at this scale.
If you are a rancher looking for acreage of this scale, reach out now – land opportunities this big are not easy to come by!
