Posted by Fai Hui on June 21, 2021

We have more land opportunities than what is listed here! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at land@youngagrarians.org to access our full land inventory and B.C. Land Matching Program support in your region.

ABOUT THE LAND

2 to 4 acres of this beautiful 10 acre Hobby Farm in Maple Ridge are available to a new farmer looking to get their start. The property has a forest and a river that runs along side the main field. Part of the acreage has Christmas trees and blueberry bushes growing on it. There is municipal water and electricity available. The field is suitable for unirrigated crops such as garlic or potato, or potentially for drip-irrigated grapes.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The opportunity is suitable for a farmer starting out.  And committed to using highly sustainable, environmentally-friendly organic practices. Keeping the farm looking neat, organised and aesthetically pleasing will also be important. The vegetarian landowners are not leasing the land for financial gain, but would instead like to help someone that is working towards a more sustainable or equitable future. Farms that donate a portion of  their produce would be welcome for example.
