ABOUT THE LAND
This one acre market garden has been farmed organically for the past 5 seasons, and is now available for a new farmer to keep it in production! This is a turn key operation with everything you need to have a productive growing season: three greenhouses and 8 raised beds with poly covers offer plenty of protected season extension/heat loving growing space, irrigation systems are in place, there is shed space, a seedling starter room with lights, a cooler, hand tools and even a rototiller available for use (as long as tools are well maintained). There are several established fruit trees (including a very productive apple and pear) for shared harvest. An existing farm stand with a cooler and returning customer base is all set up and ready to go!
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The landowner would like to see this continue to produce organic food, and would like to make the space available year to year to start. There is no housing available on site, but the farmer is welcome to use the on-site trailer for daily use or could stay in it if desired. The owner lives on the property, as well as other tenants in a suite, so the farmer must be mindful of her use of the space as well, and a spirit of sharing and collaboration would be appreciated. Farm status must be maintained, so the farmer should have intention of running a business and generating revenue off the land. Open communication and regular check ins would be appreciated, the owner would like to create a sustainable and harmonious relationship.
