ABOUT MIELLIE MEADOWS

Owners Miel & Claus have carried forth the tradition of organically sustainable agriculture by ensuring all inputs going into the soil are organic. From the manure they spread on their fields, to the hay they feed their horses, to the compost they produce onsite and supplement into the Garden Beds.

With a large communal following of over 900 people, initiating the first year of CSA Boxes had their spots eagerly filled, with a waitlist for next year and overflow boxes still able to supply 2 local Chefs and those in the community who were unable to secure their spot for the 2022 season.

Herbs and flowers like Comfrey, Echinacea, Roses, Calendula, Borage and Stinging Nettles spur Miel’s culinary and creative side to intrigue and inspire the farm’s customers with salves, unique canning combinations and radically new recipes. Her open and generous nature solidifying a bond between farmer and customer that is grounded in trust, expertise and guidance, strengthening a relationship that is founded on a personal level of connection.

Miel & Claus’s curious and exploratory nature has led to a small chef’s market for edible flowers, garlic scape powder and the first year of row 7 seed planting. Instead of being bred for storage these crops are bred for flavor and the third plate, opening the door for a potentially high-value, specialty niche Market that empowers local Chefs to bridge the gap between small farmers and local cuisine and culture.
