The Manitoba Organic Alliance is seeking a Fundraising and Communication Assistant!
ABOUT Manitoba Organic Alliance
The Manitoba Organic Alliance (MOA) is a fast-growing not-for-profit organization that represents the organic value chain in Manitoba. We work with producers, processors, buyers, and researchers to build the whole organic sector in Manitoba.
We build capacity for the sector by transferring complex knowledge about organic production, and we help farmers to access new markets while connecting buyers to producers.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND PERSONAL TRAITS
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about working on a multi-faceted fundraising project. As a fundraising assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our organization’s fundraising efforts. The following attributes are what we value in our ideal candidate:
- Degree in any field related to communication, marketing, or agriculture.
- Fundraising knowledge, understanding principles, techniques, and best practices relating to donor cultivation, grant writing, and online fundraising
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Aptitude at conducting research and gathering relevant information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Technology proficiency
Eligibility criteria
- must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the internship;
- must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- cannot be currently enrolled in school; and
- must be a graduate of degree or diploma programs from universities, colleges, post-secondary schools of technology, post-secondary institutes and CEGEP (collège d’enseignement général et professionnel, Québec).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grant Writing and Research: Support the development and submission of grant proposals. -Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities, gather relevant information, and assist in the grant application process.
- Donor Management: Assist in maintaining donor databases and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Help in tracking donor contributions, generating acknowledgment letters, and conducting donor research.
- Donor Stewardship: Contribute to donor stewardship efforts by assisting in donor recognition activities, providing timely donor acknowledgments, and maintaining regular communication with donors to nurture relationships.
- Communication and Outreach: Assist in creating compelling fundraising materials, such as newsletters, and social media content. Support outreach efforts by coordinating mailings, managing email campaigns, and monitoring social media platforms.
JOB DETAILS
Term: 1-year position
Hours per week: This is a full-time junior position (40 hours/week).
Wage: The remuneration is between $45,000 to $50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Three weeks of annual leave included, plus medical leave.
