ABOUT THE LAND
We are a 10 year established eco resort on the Fraser River and will be building hemp micro homes and tiny hemphomes in the near future on the property for additional guest accommodation to add to our existing yurts, domes and cabins. We will also sell them to the public looking for eco friendly, sustainable, passive solar, fire and mold-proof housing. Its time to adapt to climate change and start building with a renewable fiber like hemp that can be harvested in 14 weeks vs conventional stick frame toxic houses that go up in smoke in minutes in a wildfire. (Fact 2.5 acres of hemp can produce a 1250 sq ft house) We need lots of hemp hurd to make hempcrete and hempblocks.
If we can find a young couple interested in growing and harvesting hemp on our property there might also be an opportunity for them to get involved in the construction side of things helping us build, market and sell the hemp houses if they are interested.
There is no housing on the property, but potential landseekers could bring their own (hook ups available), or commute from one of the nearby communities.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The land is situated on the bench of the Fraser River at 600 feet elevation between Lytton and Lillooet (12 km south of Lillooet). The lower field is 75 ft above the river and the upper bench is at 400ft. The Fraser river bed sandy soil has good drainage, and land has good access to water in a great sunny and dry climate. A large productive carrot farm is just down the road! There are over 60 acres available for hemp production on the lower bench, with potential for another few hundred acres on the upper bench. Some of the land has been used for haying, and the rest is uncultivated in a region with high agricultural potential.
