ABOUT THE FARMER
Patricia Guest has been a visionary farmer, chef and food security supporter since 1979. She started one of the first agri-tourism operations in the Okanagan, which she ran from 1990 to 2003. She has been on a mission to introduce farm-fresh, local and organic ingredients to anyone who will listen. After starting My Country Garden in Kelowna in 1990, Patricia wrote a food and farm column for the Daily Courier for 8 years. She also created the first pick-your-own-flowers outlet and brought 2,800 school-aged children per year onto her farm. One of the things she is most proud of is that those students remember her as the ‘Pumpkin Lady’ all these many years later!
Nowadays, based in Peachland, Patricia is primarily focused on growing vegetables for her local, organic, feel-good pizza line: Pizzamoreh. She sells her pizzas directly and in Nature’s Fare and T-Bones markets. She wholesaled the first yellow cherry tomatoes in the Okanagan to what was then Barney’s Produce and later became Okanagan Quality Greens, with whom she maintains connections.
Patricia has been a strong advocate for local, organic and fresh food for so many years that CBC Radio still calls her every canning season to get the low-down on the season’s hot commodities in the local canning scene!

HER LAND VISION
For the 2023 farming season, Patricia has created an acre of no-till gardening space for tomatoes, onions, garlic and peppers to top her pizza line and is implementing a lot of recent learning about no-till farming. She is a strong advocate for organic farming and is excited to combine no-till and light tilling approaches for great soil management. In Patricia’s words: “Experiment, understand, observe, and change….. the mantra of farming well!”
Patricia is seeking a long-term agreement of at least 5 acres (ideally in Peachland or as close as possible) to help create a stable, mixed-use farm where she can grow vegetables for wholesale to her pizza company. The property would also function as a training ground for young farmers via her Tierramor’eh Farm School, and boast a year-round greenhouse to support her teaching about food security.
Patricia comes with her own 100′ x 30′ greenhouse, a big JD hoe and loader, tons of experience and a guaranteed sales outlet for her produce. A long term agreement is ideal, and even better if the landholders are open to having a U-Pick operation on-site for berries and flowers as add-on services.
