ABOUT THE FARMERS
Colin and Katie McInnes of The Dogs Run Farm are motivated by a commitment to regenerative agriculture, giving back to their community and honouring the skills and knowledge that have been passed down through generations. They have been running a thriving business in Clearwater, MB near Winnipeg since 2013, and are ready to make the move to BC! Here in BC, they are looking for opportunities to grow their business and are excited to connect with local landholders to make that growth possible.
Colin and Katie raise cattle, Dorper sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, laying hens, a horse as well as a few cats and their dogs. They sell free-range pork, lamb, beef, poultry and eggs as well as handmade soap. They practice rotational grazing techniques to help their land recover between seasons and improve the relationship between the land and the animals it feeds. Colin and Katie also grow a large garden for flowers and vegetables for their own consumption.
THEIR LAND VISION
To expand their business to its full potential, Colin and Katie are looking for a half or full section of land (300-600 acres) or more for grazing and hay. They are open to land opportunities anywhere in BC, and their operation would be best suited to large parcels in the Cariboo and Northern BC.
Housing on-site would be a plus and would allow them to steward the land and their animals most effectively. In an ideal scenario, the land might also have equipment for livestock handling and sorting.
Colin and Katie are looking for a long-term lease and are also interested in transition opportunities with options to purchase down the line. They can’t wait to meet you!
