Fierce Love Farm in Qualicum Beach, BC is seeking a Farm hand!
ABOUT Fierce Love Farm
Fierce Love Farm is a small scale farm in beautiful Qualicum Beach, the territory of the Qualicum First Nation, Snaw-naw-as, and K’ómoks peoples. We grow our vegetables, berries, and flowers on 2 acres of sandy coastal soil, and sell at the local farmers’ market, which is one of the best and busiest markets on Vancouver Island, and to independent small grocers and local restaurants.
We are entering our 7th season running Fierce Love Farm, and love growing food for our small, charming, and friendly community. After farming on leased land for a number of years in Saanich, we moved to Qualicum in 2021. We have been actively working to regenerate what was a conventional row cropped vegetable farm for many decades into a healthy, thriving, mixed operation through ecological soil management, cover cropping, crop diversity, hedgerows, sustainable water management, and restoration of natural wetland micro-systems.
We are committed to agroecology and grow a large diversity of crops according to ecological management principles and practices. Between us we have many years of experience farming on certified organic farms around BC, from the Similkameen Valley to the Saanich peninsula, and are happy to share our knowledge and passion for agriculture! We work hard to provide a healthy working environment, and we strive to be a safe and engaging space for people of all communities to work and learn.
