ABOUT Smith Lake Farm
We are a diversified farm that raises beef cattle and have an apiary, hay field, pastures, organic orchard and expanding garden. We are involved in agritourism and offer glamping, beekeeping and other agritourism opportunities.
We are involved with a group of Comox Valley Beekeepers looking to better local food security by raising honeybees that are mite-resistant and bred for our wet cool climate. Come learn from our master beekeeper.

We have one summer student position available! Come join our awesome team and spend the summer at Smith Lake Farm.
We are looking for one summer student who will be able to independently clean glamping sites and manage details for turnovers; help with ground maintenance, landscaping, and gardening; clean and organize event space and other communal buildings. Farm tasks may include animal husbandry, gardening, and if interested, beekeeping. Being confident with children is a huge plus as we have lots of little people who come to the farm.
JOB DETAILS
Term: This position is for full-time work from June through September.
Hours per week: 35-40 hours, 7-8 hours a day 5 days a week. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Work week is usually Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Friday depending on turnovers. Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.
Wage: $20/hr
Must have a vehicle to get to work.
Benefits
- Bonus of $500 if you finish the term of your agreement.
- If you are interested, you can leave with your Level one beekeeping course completed (value of $300).
