    1. Hi Peggy,

No immediate plans to expand the program to BC, but hopefully in the future. The Prairies Apprenticeship Program was set up because there weren’t many opportunities to learn on ecological farms there, so many folks were coming to BC to learn. If you keep an eye on our Job Board, we will have lots of farm jobs and apprenticeships coming in from Jan-May and beyond.

      Cheers,
      Michalina

  1. I am interested in a young person who would like to spend time in West Abbotsford living and working with me on my farm. I have 5 acres of raspberries and 22 acres of land with Lavender, Hay, Vegetables and pasture for livestock.
I can offer full room and board. It would be a learning experience for the right individual!

    1. Hi Nicki,

Thanks for your comment. If you’re interested in posting a farm job or apprenticeship on our website, here are the links:
      Submit a job: https://youngagrarians.org/submit-job-posting/
      Submit an apprenticeship: https://youngagrarians.org/submit-apprenticeship-posting/

Please note that we require all opportunities to be paid hourly. There are ideas for structuring an apprenticeship with room and board etc. at the link above.

      Cheers,
      Michalina

    2. Are you in Abbotsford, BC? I am on a small average in Maple Ridge, BC, and have been raising raspberries for my own use for many years. My canes haven’t done well for the last two years, and are looking very poor for the coming year, 2022. I have heard of a virus that is affecting raspberries in metro Vancouver. Do you know where I could find more information about this? Are you having problems with your raspberries? My friend in Port Coquitlam is also having problems with her raspberry canes and yields. Thank you for any information.
