Farm Mentorship Opportunity

Young Agrarians is seeking farm business mentors in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba! This is a paid hourly position.

Are you an experienced farmer wanting to give back to the next generation?

Is farm business planning, cashflow planning and business strategy your jam?

Do you get excited about goal setting, record keeping, financial analysis and market research?

Do you love listening to and supporting others on their learning journeys to reach their goals?

If you answered yes, you might be a great fit as a Farm Business Mentor!


Business development skills and navigating business start-up is one of the biggest challenges facing new farmers. The Young Agrarians Business Mentorship Network provides new farmers with an opportunity to build their business knowledge and use it to grow their farm operations to achieve long-term viability.

Cultivate your leadership as a mentor and put your hard won skills and experience to use in coaching new farmers to achieve their goals. We offer a short online Mentor Training program  to support you to develop your mentoring/coaching skills in the context of farming. You will also receive support and resources from the program Coordinators and a cohort of fellow mentors.

Time Commitment: approximately 30 to 35 hours primarily in the winter/spring planning season with check-ins throughout the growing season and a wrap up process in the fall.

Mentor applications are accepted year round with matches made In November/December.
