Land Linking Workshop: Networking, Land Access Arrangements, B.C. Land Matching Program & Expert Panel!
GOT LAND? WANT LAND? Are you a landowner looking for farmers? Are you a farmer looking for land? We want you!
Join us for a workshop on the nuts and bolts of land access. Young Agrarians Land Linking Workshops bring together landholders and farmers seeking land to network, explore possible land matches, and learn from land access experts. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Squamish Food Policy Council to bring this event to the Squamish-Lillooet region!
Our B.C. Land Program Manager Darcy Smith is heading up the Sea 2 Sky highway for the day to help farmers and landholders in the region understand land leasing and other land arrangements. She’ll be sharing key questions to ask, legal considerations, how to assess and manage risk, and how to build and maintain stable land agreements that are mutually beneficial. Plus, our expert panel will share their perspectives on land sharing, including topics such as legal factors, finances, housing, and more.
Wondering if you should attend a Land Linking Workshop? Producers (and farmers-to-be) of all types are welcome, whether you grow veggies, raise animals (or bees!), or have some other farming project in mind. We encourage all landholders to join us, whether you’ve just started thinking about the possibility of making land available to lease, or you’ve already put a ton of thought into your vision for your land!
We can’t wait to land link with folk from across the region, from Squamish to Pemberton to Lillooet and everywhere in between!
Are you on the Young Agrarians UMAP? List your land or future farm dream today! You just might find a farmer who can turn your vacant field into a productive farm, or a landowner who has the ideal piece of land for you!
