Sutherland Schoolyard Market Garden

Posted by Emily Jubenvill on October 23, 2014

The North Shore Neighbourhood House’s Edible Garden Project (EGP) is building a Schoolyard Market Garden at Sutherland Secondary School. Imagine learning science and math in the vegetable beds and compost piles, languages over a fresh picked meal to share, and art surrounded by a bountiful garden. Students, teachers, and community members will benefit from transforming one third of an acre of Sutherland Secondary’s front lawn into a thriving market garden.  Watch their video to find out more about the project!

They have launched an Indigogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money for soil and a living fence. Help them reach their goal, and share it with your friends and networks. They’ve lined up some great perks, including a 2015 Calendar full of planting tips, tricks, and dates specific to the region. Check out their campaign!
