Soil Matters: Register for the Largest Organic Conference in Atlantic Canada

The Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network (ACORN) will be hosting its 15th Annual Celebratory Conference and Trade Show from November 23rd-25th, 2015, at the Delta Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, PEI.

The conference is an exciting, three-day event, that brings together organic farmers, processors, and businesses from across the region. Over 50 workshops will highlight Atlantic Canada’s diverse agricultural community, including:

A Soil Symposium celebrating 2015 International Year of the Soils, featuring Rodale Institutes’s Jeff Moyer;

A dedicated Farmer’s Market Stream in partnership with Farmer’s Markets of Nova Scotia and the Charlottetown Market;

A range of workshops on Horticulture, Livestock, Grain and Field Crops, Seed, Homesteading, Biodiversity and more!

As part of the Conference, ACORN will be hosting a 100% organic Banquet and Keynote talk  on Tuesday, November 24, with an informal reception beginning at 5:00 PM and the meal beginning at 6:30 PM.

Banquet Menu Teaser:

  • Starter: Pear & Squash Soup with toasted pumpkin seed (vegan/gluten-free)
  • Entrée: Fork Tender Dark Beer & Cilantro Braised Beef Chuck Flat  (w/Gluten Free option) with side dish
  • OR: Porto Bella Mushroom Stack with grilled eggplant, zucchini, smoked tofu tossed in basil oil and finished with balsamic glaze (vegetarian option!) with side dish
  • Dessert: Berry-mixed compote on sponge cake presented in a fancy martini glass topped with Crème Anglaise! Served with organic tea and coffee.
