Golden Ears Farm, in Chase BC, is hosting a Corn Roast and Farm tour on September 13. Golden Ears is providing a spit-roasted lamb and the corn! Bring a food item to share, your own plate, cutlery, cup and drinks/money to chip in for a keg of Crannóg beer if you’re interested.
Golden Ears is a small co-operative farm community committed to growing healthy food using organic practices, and living as self sufficiently as we can. We are transitioning to certified organic status this season through the North Okanagan Organic Association.
We have 34 acres in the beautiful South Thompson Valley beside the Thompson River and near a small town called Chase. We share our land with our cows, goats, chickens, duck, pigs, dogs, bees and two cats.
Our main crops are corn, strawberries, raspberries and squash, and we also grow a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. We attend farmers’ markets in the area, run a CSA Food Box, operate a bike shop, and sometimes host events.
When: Saturday, September 13 – Farm Tour 3pm, Corn Roast 5pm
Where: 5848 VLA Road (from Highway 1, turn onto VLA Road. Cross the railroad tracks and park alongside the road. You’ll see the bike shop and main driveway to the farm on your right-hand side).
