About Steel Pony Farm

Mike’s experience of a home-cooked meal in Kenya in his 20’s led to an obsession with local food production and eventual travel to visit farmers across Canada. He learned from experienced Canadian farmers how they were creating an alternative to the global food system. Ultimately, it led him back to Red Deer, his hometown, where he started Steel Pony Farm. His farm delivers healthy, fresh seasonal veggies and Alberta-made products to your doorstep. Their grocery boxes emphasizes small and local producers, products made with sustainable practices and food that tastes unlike anything you’ve ever tried.  Steel Pony Farm focuses on growing its produce in a sustainable and ethical way that contributes to its incredible flavour and superior nutritional value.  Everything is grown with love, care, and a lot of laughing and smiles.
