Farm Tour: Fork in the Rowed
Co-owners Jodie Van Nistelrooy and Moira Watson began farming Fork in the Rowed, a certified organic vegetable farm 3 years ago just outside of Lethbridge, AB. They grow a variety of crops to fill their CSA boxes and their tables at the farmer’s markets in Lethbridge and Calgary. Learn about the farming techniques they have honed, successful marketing strategies and how to build a farm business model through a partnership.
Speaker: Takota Coen
“Bringing Design & Permaculture Back to the Farm”
Takota was raised on Grass Roots Family Farm where his family has managed their land according to organic principles for 26 years. The forge is fueled with charcoal, a sustainable and renewable resource that’s been used by blacksmiths for centuries. Tim and his partner Lorinda Peel also run Edible Earthscapes, a permaculture and landscape design company. And a bit shout out to Lorinda for helping us plan this event!
