Regeneration Canada is seeking a Liaison and Communications Officer.

ABOUT Regeneration Canada

Regeneration Canada is a non-profit organization that promotes the regeneration of soil health, in order to mitigate climate change, restore biodiversity, improve water cycles, and support a more productive and fair food system.

We strive towards this goal by raising awareness and mobilizing Canadians about the potential of reversing climate change through regenerative soil management, and about the ways each one of us can contribute. Our activities include developing an interdisciplinary network through our membership, educational workshops, communications activities (social media, web series, awareness campaigns), presentations at events. We’re committed to integrating principles of equity and inclusion throughout our activities and organization, to foster belonging of diverse stakeholders in our movement.

We consider that to regenerate land, we need to address systemic cultural and social barriers that determine who has access to land and resources to be able to participate in the regenerative movement.We are a dynamic team, made up of teammates with varied backgrounds and personalities who share a common passion for soil health. We are looking for a colleague who is driven by the cause of soil regeneration and the fight against climate change, and by the desire to make a difference. This person enjoys leading projects, working on multiple campaigns at the same time and thinking about innovative ways to communicate different messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Required experience and qualifications:
    • Very good written and oral English communication skills, conversational French;
    • Experience in farming;
    • Strong attention to detail;
    • Strong organization skills and impeccable time management;
    • Autonomy, sense of initiative, proactivity and curiosity.
  • Assets:
    • Advanced French language skills;
    • Experience using WordPress;
    • Experience with graphic design softwares (such as InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator);
    • Owning a vehicle (transportation stipend is provided).

JOB TASKS

  • Help coordinate the organization of workshops on farms throughout the summer 2022;
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for speakers, participants, and RC team members;
  • Handle logistics and liaise between farmers and various suppliers;Act as a key contact person for workshops participants;
  • Take notes during workshops;
  • Help manage RC booth at various events;
  • Help the Community Manager and other team members in the prairies with outreach and membership drive;
  • Coordinate with the Communications Manager for the creation and dissemination of promotional material;
  • Collect and manage participants contact information;
  • Develop event feedback surveys and handle post-event reports.

JOB DETAILS

Term: 8 Weeks. 35 hours/week. Possibility to work on 1-2 weekends during the contract period. Flexibility in work schedule;

Wage: $23 per hour

Start date: June 11th, 2022
