At long last, Young Agrarians is headed to Saskatchewan! Join fellow farmers and food lovers for an afternoon and evening of learning, sharing and fun! This event is free and open to everyone. 

WHEN: Saturday, December 14th from 1:00 pm to midnight

199-225x300SPEAKERS:  Ian and Christina King run  Northwood Farm near Hafford, Saskatchewan. Ian & Christina King met in 2008 at a small farmers’ market in Victoria, British Columbia. Ian managed, Sea Bluff Farm in B.C., for a year before Ian and Christina decided to move to Saskatchewan to purchase some land of their own and Christina resumed her teaching career. This will be Ian and Christina’s Fifth year growing vegetables.

MINI-MARKET: Have farm products for sale or to trade? We’ll set up some tables for you to share what you grow. Find some great Xmas gifts or fill your fridge and freezer.

 

BRING: Please bring

  • a dish to share at the potluck and tools to eat with
  • water bottle, coffee cup
  • notebook
  • items to trade or for sale for the mini-market
  • 10 .ppt slides with photos of your farm if you want to share in the farmer slide show

I’m not sure if I’m a Young Agrarian, is this event for me? Yes! This event is for anyone of any age and any stage interested in food and farming. Our events are for anyone involved in growing the next generation of farmers. Whether you are  just starting out, thinking about a career change, looking for someone to come and work with you on your land, this event is for you!!!

Are children welcome? Children are welcome but please leave furry friends at home.
