Pure Country Stock Farm is the home of Darcy and Candace Goodrich and children Ronan(11), Bodi(9) and Emily(7). We are located 3.5kms North of Rock Creek, BC along Hwy33, which is 1.5 hours South of Kelowna or 45 minutes East of Osoyoos. We have 210 acres of irrigated hay and pasture land, and are working on organic certification. We practice Holistic Management in our rotational grazing and financial management, and are designing plans for permaculture inspired food forests, market gardens and silvopasturing multiple species of livestock.
We have a unique situation currently however, in that I, Darcy, work in the oilfield in Alberta 3-4 weeks at a time, leaving Candace and the kids to do all the work. Therein lies our reasoning for connecting with the Land Linking group and Young Agrarians. We are very interested in finding like minded individuals, couples or families that would share a vision for creating a natural, pure food hub in the Kettle River Valley.
If you are interested in discussing land use arrangements, please feel free to get in touch. We are willing to discuss land use for you, in trade for extra labor for us, possibly partnering on a small business, or even creating a co-farming community. These are visions we are already working towards, but have recognized that our situation creates a weak link, that could be resolved by having more members on our team. If you think this is a good fit, or are curious to see the farm and meet us, we can be reached through our Facebook page at Pure Country Stock Farm, or the old fashioned way:
