Join us at Puddle Produce Farm in Soda Creek (near Williams Lake), BC for our first Cariboo Land Social with a farm tour, potluck social, and discussion on farming on leased land!
Come get inspired and learn about the incredible farming that can be done on leased land! Farmer Brianna has built up a hugely productive farm in the 3 years she has been leasing this land, and we are lucky to be able to spend the day learning on-site about her experiences building the farm and business!
We will tour the farm, enjoy a potluck lunch, and take a dive into the steps to building a successful farm on leased land. We will explore what farming on leased land is like and learn about how the B.C. Land Matching Program can help you find the perfect piece of land for you to build your dream farm business – or the perfect farmer for your land. Our new Central & Northern B.C. Land Matcher, Jolene, will share information and answer questions about land matching and how leasing land works. Both farmers seeking land and farmland owners thinking about leasing land are encouraged to attend – as well as anyone who loves food, farming, and getting out onto the land!

About Puddle Produce Farm
Puddle Produce Farm is a 1.5 acre transitioning organic mixed vegetable and microgreen farm located in the Soda Creek region of the Cariboo-Chilcotin. The owner of Puddle Produce Farm, Brianna, started as an urban farmer in Williams Lake in 2013, leasing small residential plots in exchange for veggies. She entered a lease agreement with the landowners of the current property (74 acres) in 2016. She now runs a 40+ member CSA, farmers market sales, retail, and restaurants.
Discussion on farming on leased land: Young Agrarians’ Central & Northern B.C. Land Matcher, Jolene, will facilitate a discussion on leasing farmland in the region. Together with Brianna, we will explore what the steps are to building a successful business on leased land and how the B.C. Land Matching Program delivered by Young Agrarians can support you in making your farm vision into reality!

Hello good people! Just a quick correction for your website; someone accidentally inserted an apostrophe in your Williams Lake intro, not a very good thing when the lake is named for someone called Williams. Good luck with your enterprises!
Thanks Irene! Good catch – we’ve fixed the typo. Hope to see you out at an event in the region sometime soon, we’re hosting a Land Linking Workshop in Prince George on October 20, more info at youngagrarians.org/land 🙂
