About the Lower Similkameen Community Food Hub, Farm and Garden

At the heart of the Lower Similkameen (LSIB) Community Food Hub Farm & Garden is to:
  1. produce healthy food for the community and grow native plants,
  2. create business and employment opportunities, and
  3. create spaces for education, collaboration and gathering.

This provides a range of social, economic and health benefits with and for community members centred on Indigenous food security and sovereignty. The food hub farm and garden will enable opportunities for passing on traditional knowledge of food gathering and processing through the generations; create business and employment opportunities for the community; teach skills, host skill shares and deliver farming/growing education; and host gatherings and social events, weaving in arts and culture.
