Up to 5.5 acres of land are available for a variety of production types on Elphinstone Farm in Gibsons! This 60-acre property is conveniently located off of Port Mellon Highway, just two minutes from Langdale Ferry Terminal.
Most of the property is wooded, with 17 acres that have been cleared. The landholders live on-site and will be utilizing 11.5 acres, comprising of their living space, a blueberry and blackcurrant field and a small apple cider orchard. There are two hoop houses (30 x 100 feet) with electricity in this cleared area, one of which the landholder will keep for their own use.
There are 5.5 acres available for lease in three easily accessible parcels: two half-acre parcels and one 4.5-acre parcel. The second hoop house, which is available for use, is located within one of the half-acre parcels.
The entire cleared 17 acres are fenced with eight-foot metal elk fencing. Water is available from a registered well and two ponds on the property.
This property offers excellent potential for organic farming in a convenient and scenic location. The landholder is open to many production types, including vegetables, fruit, livestock, bees and more!
On the long-term, the landholder envisions the land as a learning centre and community hub that showcases regenerative food forest systems while contributing to local food security. They are open to discussing a variety of arrangements, and would be happy to share their knowledge on syntropic food systems and permaculture practices.
Farmers can bring their own farm tools and machinery onto the property, and there is a 60-horsepower tractor with accessories available for use. An RV could also be brought onto the land, if the incoming farmer would like to live on-site.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity would be interested in regenerative farming, and would have a clear plan to bring their farm vision to life in this uncultivated space. Given that the landholder lives on the property, good communication and a positive relationship will be key for this opportunity.
