ABOUT THE LAND

This 153 acre turn key farm located in the North West outskirts of beautiful Prince George has it all! A well kept 1989 farmhouse, industrial shop, many outbuildings (hen houses, storage sheds, greenhouse, two pole barns), and roughly 80 acres in hay production. The remaining land is forested and wetlands. In amongst neighboring farms lies Vivian Lake and Sylvan lake, Ness Lake Regional Park and the Eskers Provincial Park in the area.

The well cared for 1989 farmhouse has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a large yard. The large greenhouse would need a bit of TLC to bring it back but welcomes your ideas! The 36’ x 50’ 220 amp industrial shop is heated and immaculately kept. With a large overhead door, it’s the perfect place to work on equipment.  In addition on the south side of the farmyard, there is an original cottage dwelling approx. 24’ x 20’ that is in the process of being renovated to living condition. Also of note is the 16’ x 20’ two-walled open pole barn with metal roof, for equipment storage accessibility and a 24’ x 24’ enclosed pole barn, high ceiling height, gravel floor. This complete property includes 15 outbuildings with power run to almost every building.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for someone that has farming experience to come in and start or build their business on this farm. The ideal farmer would be someone wanting hay land as the cleared land is to stay in hay production with the intention to rotate out of hay for a couple years into grain, then back into established hay land. We are open to discussing different options  with the farm yard and land if it would be of interest to only use part of the land for an agriculture businesses. There could also be the opportunity to work on our family’s home ranch which could include farm machinery maintenance/repair, barb wire fencing, gate repair and upkeep, restoration of older/heritage barn and smaller buildings, fieldwork, and cattle handling.

The land opportunity is set at $3,500 per month on a yearly lease basis. Option to rent house only for $ 2,200 per month on one year lease or month to month arrangement. Other arrangements/rent costs to be discussed.

This opportunity could also be great for someone interested in integrating livestock. The treed areas could be suitable for pasture however fencing would need to be done first.
