ABOUT THE LAND

Located about 40 minutes from Nelson, BC, the landowner of this 70 acre property in the Slocan Valley is looking for like-minded and experienced farmers to help with food forest planting and developing garden spaces, as well as mushroom-log cutting and inoculating and many other side projects.

The land is largely forested up the hillside above the Slocan River, with a few opening on the benches above for farming. There is a new road into the top 45 acres of the property where the benches are located. This property requires an AWD vehicle to access in the winter months if needed.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The landowner of this opportunity is open to chatting with like-minded single farmers or couples, with experience, energy and an independent work ethic willing to trade a site to live on and use of gardens/produce for some amount of input into the land. There is a southern exposed meadow with a mountain of topsoil waiting to be spread out, planted and fenced.

There are currently no facilities on the land those interested would require a self-contained living space (tiny-homes, caravans, camper trailers etc). There is access to water and electricity. There is an access road into the land and the potential to open up 3-4 living sites for the right farmers. There is no cell service in this area.
