We always have new land opportunities coming into our inventory, some of which aren’t on our blog yet! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at bclmp@youngagrarians.org to learn about the latest opportunities and to access free B.C. Land Matching Program services in your region.
Conveniently located in central Richmond, approximately six acres of ALR land are available for a variety of production types!
The land has not previously been used for agricultural production, and is ready to be brought to life by a new farmer (or pair of farmers). The property has recently been cleared and levelled, and the land has good agronomic potential, suitable for growing vegetables, fruit, flowers, and more. City water for irrigation is available and a gated farm access road allows for secure access to the growing space.

This property offers a flexible farming opportunity open to any practices (though organic is preferred) and most production types: market gardening, orchard, flowers, bees, mushrooms, and much more!
The landholder has planted a few experimental beds and will likely continue to cultivate a small area of the property themselves.
Farmers can bring their own farm tools and machinery onto the property, and there may also be a tractor available on-site. The landholders are open to ideas for the land, and are interested in eventually exploring potential for a long-term lease. A collaborative relationship is also a possibility, wherein the landholder could support with marketing and sales.

The ideal candidate(s) for this opportunity would be dedicated farmers with a strong vision for the land. The incoming farmer(s) should be ready to put in a bit of work to prepare the land for cultivation as it has not been used for agriculture and was cleared last year.
As there is no housing available on-site, the ideal candidate(s) would live locally or within reasonable commuting distance to the site.
