ABOUT THE LAND
Blue Bunch Farm is a five acre plot, cultivated with small fruit orchard, vegetable garden and vineyard located on the Thompson River, near Savona, B.C.
The vision of the farm is to create a space to inspire regenerative and permaculture practices, set an example of how work life balance can be integrated to a sustainable lifestyle.
1/4 to 1/2 acre of farmland are available for cultivation of vegetable crops. A commercial kitchen is available for rent as well as space on the land to bring your own accommodations, such as a tiny home, rv or camper.
Road access is via a private gravel road (that is maintained among a neighbourhood of seven properties) accessible year round.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Currently the landholder runs a horse rehabilitation centre on the farm. Animals residing there include six horses, two ponies, one dog, two cats and eighteen birds on the property which occupy a large area of pasture. Organic farming is a must, regenerative and permaculture practices are preferred by the landholder.
The farm is completely fenced. There is a well (13 gallons per minute) as well as water rights to the river that is used for irrigation every 5 days during the summer months. The soil type is river bed, lots of sand and clay, a good amount of topsoil is established.
Ideally the landholder would like a small percentage of crops for personal consumption through the summer/winter in trade for the use of the garden/vineyard/orchard space.
Their ideal person has a clear vision and skillset to apply sustainable agricultural practices, is motivated, a little bit handy, knowledge of basic farm equipment and irrigation and works well in a community environment.
