NO LONGER AVAILABLE : 5 acre Orchard in Penticton, BC

We have more land opportunities than what is listed here! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at to access our full land inventory and B.C. Land Matching Program support in your region.

The land opportunity includes 5 Acres of Mixed Orchard, planted with good yielding Gala, Spartan, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Bartlett Pears.  The land mostly slopes to the west (a gentle slope). There is all day sun exposure to both the south and West and is only a 2 minute drive to downtown Penticton and 8 minutes to Growers Supply.  The neighbouring properties are an orchard on both the north and south sides, a vineyard on the east side and another vineyard across the street on the west side.
There is some clay in the soil, but no recent soil testing has been done. When digging, there is very little to no rocks.  There are no buildings or farm equipment available.

The area is fully fenced with deer fence and fully irrigated with City of Penticton agricultural water supply.

We are happy to have the new farmer carry on with the current apple and pear crops, or if they are interested in a long term lease and would like to switch to a different type of tree crop or grapes, we are open to that idea as well.  We are open to new ideas and if interested, please speak with Okanagan Land Matcher, Tessa Thompson about your ideas.
The successful candidate must have the drive to succeed, have farming experience and commit not to let the farm slide into a neglected state. The grass must be kept low and weed killer applied as often as necessary where it can’t be mowed. If tree fruits, the trees must be pruned properly and on time, thinned so as to maximize production quality and prevent younger trees from tipping over or branches from breaking due to excessive weight.  I get along with most people and really dislike confrontations or nagging at people. As long as the farm is looked after properly and kept clean we’ll get along fabulously. We would prefer an yearly rental fee versus a crop sharing percentage.
