We always have new land opportunities coming into our inventory, some of which aren’t on our blog yet! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at bclmp@youngagrarians.org to learn about the latest opportunities and to access free B.C. Land Matching Program services in your region.

ABOUT THE LAND

Situated 20 minutes east of Prince George near Tabor Lake, this property offers 320 acres for grazing on Class 4 valley bottom silt loam. The beautiful Tabor Creek runs north to south through the centre of the property, providing ample water opportunities for livestock. The landscape is picturesque, with natural meadows, open fields and some treed areas.

The land was previously used to graze cattle, and there is electric fencing posts and hardware installed across the property, currently in good condition. If you are a rancher near Prince George looking for land suitable for cattle even under drought conditions, this is the place, with a high water table to provide excellent forage.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a great chance for a livestock farmer to lease a sizeable plot of excellent grazing land. Though the infrastructure on-site was previously used for cattle, the opportunity is open to various types of livestock.

The landholder would love to see an experienced farmer keep the property in active production! The landholder is currently thinking of leasing the property for a term of around three years.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for this opportunity is an experienced rancher interested in commercial agricultural production, beyond homesteading. The land, having been previously used for livestock, is best suited to a farmer who is interested in running a livestock operation.

If you are a rancher looking for acreage of this scale, don’t hesitate to reach out!
