ABOUT THE LAND

This three acre area of land for lease was previously used for hay and has been fallow for roughly eight years. In that time, it has been mowed occasionally. The land gets a lot of direct sunlight in the summer months, and the soil is quite silty/ sandy with little organic matter. The soil is also quite acidic, which is typical for Squamish River Valley floor soil. There is electricity and well water nearby, and the potential to share some out-buildings which includes a wood-fired drying building. There is also a 30x60ft fenced area that was previously used to house sheep that’s available for use. The irrigation consists of gas pump, and surface water.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity is for a farmer who is in line with ecological and responsible land practices, though they don’t necessarily need to be certified organic. There are other farmers working other parts of this property, and some stay in the summer months. The group is in their 30s, and are fun, social, and hard working.

The length of lease, building sharing, and potential option to live on the property are all up for discussion for the right fit.
