Hay has been cut here for the past 15 years and during that time no commercial pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers have been used. Historically, the land has also supported potato production. 

The field receives full sun and features silty loam soils. It is currently covered in wild grasses and is fenced on two sides with a fence that is in good condition. Water is supplied through buried two-inch irrigation lines, with several risers available for connecting an irrigation system.

This opportunity is open to crop farmers, beekeepers, and small livestock producers raising sheep or goats. The landholders do not plan to cultivate the land themselves and would like to see it brought back into active production. 

The field is easily accessible from the road and can be reached by vehicle. The farmer may access the land at any time of day. Small tools or equipment may be stored on-site within the property’s fully fenced residential area. 

This opportunity is best suited for farmers who plan to market their products off-site, as farm stand or farm gate sales are not planned for this property.

This opportunity is best suited to a local farmer as there is no housing available on the property. The landholders live on-site and value sharing land with someone who communicates well, is respectful of the shared space of a rural neighbourhood, and manages their farm operations independently.
