ABOUT THE LAND
Conveniently located in Langley, 29 acres of land are available for farming!
The available land has been cleared, but it has not been farmed in quite a while, so some work will be needed to prepare the space for farming. There is some gentle topography on the property that the landholders are open to levelling if necessary.
Water is available from a well, and there is potentially a small storage barn and a larger building with gas power and water available for use. The landholder is also open to an incoming farmer developing more infrastructure on the property, such as a greenhouse and/or other structures.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity is open to any production type except for livestock: vegetables, grains, flowers, market garden… you name it!
The landholder would love for a farmer (or farmers) to make use of as much of the available acreage as possible, to get the most out of the land. This is a flexible opportunity with room for negotiation on the terms and lease rate. The landholder would also be interested in receiving a share of the harvest as part of the agreement, though this is not a requirement.
ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate would be an experienced farmer with the knowledge and skills to prepare the land for farming and put the space to good use. The landholder is open to proposals and ideas of how to best utilize the space. Those interested in co-operative/collaborative farming may be particularly excited about this opportunity!
