ABOUT THE LAND
This 20 acre property, located 2 hours east of Red Deer, is current set up for growing vegetables and raising small livestock. The owners have a large greenhouse (22×48) and have intensively cultivated 4 acres for vegetable production for a local CSA. There are also buildings to accommodate meat and layer chickens. This land was formerly corals for livestock so the soil is extremely fertile with lots of organic matter. The owners have never used chemical on the land but the farm is not certified organic. The property has a 4-bedroom house, a heated shop (40×60), and several outbuildings.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The owners are interested in renting the farm for 1–2 years with the option for buying in the future. Due to a change in circumstances they are no longer able to keep up with farming. The owners would love to see someone carry out their dream of supplying the local communities with fresh produce. They would be willing to give you their customer base, use their equipment and tools, take over their market, etc. The owners would even be able to mentor and help on farm if needed.
