Robert and Judy Akitt are seeking a young man, woman or couple to work with who is interested in building a livestock enterprise on their farm.
About the Farm
The Akitt Farm is located 10 miles south of Eckville, Alberta and about 40 minutes from Red Deer and 40 minutes from Rocky Mountain House. The farm is one section which includes a quarter of pasture with the rest in hay. Robert has been seeding about 30 acres of grain the he keeps to feed livestock. The farm has a small feed mill, livestock handling facilities, and a large barn. Robert has been raising a commercial herd of cattle on this farm. When he got started when he was 18, he was raising hogs and had a small dairy.
Housing
Robert and Judy have a secondary residence located on the farm (left house in picture below). On clear days, the farm has a beautiful view of the mountains.
