The hay wagon tour will show visitors all stages of our outdoor production system. There will be day old turkeys for people so see and cuddle. The hay ride will first show how the young turkeys need extra heat and how we transition or acclimatize them to outside temperatures before moving them to the pasture. In the pasture they will see the movable feeding and shelter set-up. At festival time they will see young turkeys growing for Christmas, older turkeys ready for Thanksgiving and chickens growing for the last fresh chicken in October.
K&M Farms provides a small plot of land and a hoop house for aspiring farmers. Visitors will be able to chat with Chelsea and Lucy about the challenges and opportunities they have faced in 2 years of growing on the farm.
Chef Adrian Beaty will be sampling products and talking about different ways to prepare K&M Farms products.
