Come check out Road 13’s newly-certified organic vineyard with us! We will tour the farm and hear from a soil scientist, viticulturalist, and a winemaker about how they work together to produce delicious grapes for wine making.

ABOUT ROAD 13
OUR WINERY //
We farm to protect the land. Taking care of the dirt means it’ll take care of our roots, producing the best fruit possible. This cycle lets us make honest wines. We’ll keep farming this way for generations to come. It’s the only way we know how.
Doing things right means going the extra mile—in the vineyard and in the cellar. Our winemaker, Barclay Robinson, knows how to get the job done right and his crew does whatever it takes to go the distance.
THE SECRET’S IN THE SOIL //
Our roots run deep in this valley and that means we know this place like the back of our hands. The secret’s in the soil and in our case, soil that’s been thousands of years in the making.
Experience has taught us that you can’t make great wine without good dirt and hard work. We farm organically here. It’s our way of taking good care of this place we call home. It’s not always easy, but it produces honest, quality wines and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The Golden Mile and Black Sage Bench is home to just the right mix of heat and heart.
ABOUT THE TOUR GUIDES
Stephanie Vickers // Soil Scientist
Soil is a vital component of terroir, the same varietal grown in different soil types and climates can have a remarkable effect on taste. With a Master of Science in Soil Chemistry from the University of Guelph, it’s Stephanie’s role to help us understand why.
Barclay Robinson // Winemaker
Barclay Robinson took the helm of Road 13 as Winemaker in the spring of 2020. His passion for farming grapes and making wine has been the driving force in the evolution of the strong lineup of Road 13 wines.
Rob Achurch // Senior Viticulturalist
A self-confessed weather geek and lover of all things dirt, Rob is our expert in the science of growing grapes. He first developed a long-lasting love of nature growing up on a farm in rural Australia, reinforcing his passion with a degree in Viticulture from Charles Sturt University. Technology allows him to understand and realize the fruits potential, but organic farming keeps him grounded and in search of holistic and sustainable solutions that are not dependent on chemicals.
